Twenty players have reported to the Super Eagles’ camp in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.

The players in camp include Simon Moses, Akor Adams, Taiwo Awoniyi, Isaac James, Emmanuel Fernandez, Benjamin Fredericks, Moses Uzor and George Ilenikhena.

Others are Arthur Okonkwo, Alex Iwobi, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Chibuike Nwaiwu.

Tolu Arokodare, Bruno Onyemaechi, Raphael Onyedika and Frank Onyeka complete the list of 20 players currently in camp.

According to Super Eagles Media Officer Promise Efoghe, Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali were expected to join the squad around noon.

The Super Eagles will open their qualifying campaign against Madagascar in Uyo on September 25 before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau on September 29.

Nigeria are also scheduled to face Russia in an international friendly on October 6.

Efoghe said the team would hold its first training session on Monday, with the opening 15 minutes open to accredited media representatives.

He added that players would be available for exclusive media interviews on Wednesday at the team’s base in Ikot Ekpene, although the exact time for the engagements would be announced later.
