The Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has deployed 4,421,150 polling unit officials nationwide ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Uzodimma, who is also the Governor of Imo State, said the mobilisation effort covers all 176,846 polling units across the country as part of the party’s strategy to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He made the disclosure on Wednesday during a keynote address at a two-day Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Retreat held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
According to him, the retreat is aimed at building a coordinated grassroots structure capable of driving the party’s mobilisation efforts ahead of the polls.
“At 25 canvassers to a polling unit, that is a lawful civic force of 4,421,150 people across the federation. That is the mathematics of serious mobilisation,” he said.
Uzodimma explained that the structure is designed as a layered system stretching from the national level through geopolitical zones, states, local government areas, wards, and down to individual polling units.
He added that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) now operates through 17 directorates covering areas such as youth mobilisation, media, digital communication, finance, legal compliance, data intelligence, women affairs, diaspora engagement, and research.
The governor also disclosed that the group has launched a digital platform equipped with a data communication centre to monitor public sentiment and respond to misinformation in real time.
Describing the 2027 elections as a critical moment for the country, Uzodimma said Nigerians would decide whether to continue with ongoing reforms or change direction.
He urged participants to see the retreat as a working session expected to produce key strategic documents, including a national mobilisation blueprint, messaging manual, state action plans, and election readiness frameworks.
He also stressed the importance of communication in governance, noting that silence can weaken public perception of government achievements.
“Very often, it is silence. When we do good work and nobody hears the story, someone else tells it for us, and they tell it wrong,” he said.
Defending key policies of the Tinubu administration such as fuel subsidy removal and foreign exchange reforms, Uzodimma described them as difficult but necessary steps for long-term economic stability.
He cited recent economic indicators, including GDP growth of 3.89 per cent in the first quarter of 2026, as evidence that the reforms were yielding results.
Uzodimma also listed ongoing infrastructure projects such as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto–Badagry Road, Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Road, Enugu–Onitsha Expressway, and Bodo–Bonny Road as part of government achievements.
In his remarks, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda said the administration had recorded significant economic improvements, including increased foreign reserves, trade surplus figures, and renewed investor confidence.
He also claimed that major multinational companies were increasing investments in Nigeria, while credit rating agencies had upgraded the country’s economic outlook.
Yilwatda urged party mobilisers to translate economic data into relatable stories that resonate with citizens at the grassroots level.
“Policies do not speak for themselves. Projects do not speak for themselves. Statistics do not speak for themselves. People speak,” he said.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, speaking at the event, said mobilisation efforts were necessary to counter misinformation ahead of the elections and described the retreat as part of preparations for the 2027 polls.
Former Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura, also described the Renewed Hope Agenda as the culmination of the APC’s long-term political journey.
The Renewed Hope Ambassadors platform, created in late 2025, serves as a civic engagement and mobilisation structure supporting the Tinubu administration’s communication strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
