Manchester City have cut the gap at the top of the Premier League table to two points following a narrow 1-0 win against Leeds United at Elland Road.
League leaders Arsenal FC had earlier restored a five-point cushion after thrashing Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 last Sunday.
However, despite being dominated for large spells in the first half at Elland Road, City found the breakthrough.
Rayan Aït-Nouri surged down the left flank and delivered a cross that was converted by Antoine Semenyo for what proved to be the decisive goal.
The victory takes City to 59 points, with Pep Guardiola’s side now having played the same number of matches as Arsenal.
Attention now turns back to the Gunners, who will host Chelsea FC on Sunday evening as the title race continues to intensify.
