The National Youth Service Corps has warned Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) to verify that the names on their certificates or statements of result exactly match those uploaded on the NYSC portal ahead of the upcoming orientation exercise.
In a notice shared on its official X handle on Tuesday, the scheme stressed that any discrepancy, no matter how minor, could lead to serious issues during camp registration.
According to the statement, differences in spelling, arrangement of names, omission of middle names, or inclusion of extra initials will not be accepted at the orientation camp.
“Prospective Corps Members whose names on their certificates or statements of result do not exactly match the names uploaded on the NYSC portal should immediately contact their institutions to ensure proper alignment before reporting to camp,” the notice read.
The agency noted that such warnings have been issued repeatedly over the years due to recurring challenges faced by PCMs during camp registration arising from name inconsistencies.
NYSC officials emphasised that resolving these discrepancies early is crucial to avoiding delays or possible disqualification from the mobilisation process.
