Otti Reaffirms Support for Unity, Culture, and Community Development in Abia

Governor Alex Otti has reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote unity, cultural preservation, and community development across Abia State.

He made the remarks on Saturday in Aba during the ₦500 million fundraising launch for the acquisition of land to build a Heritage Centre by the Association of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters.

Otti, who was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, said the proposed Heritage Centre represents a noble and visionary initiative that would strengthen cultural identity and promote unity among the people of Isiala Ngwa.

“My administration is focused on building a prosperous, inclusive and development-driven state where every community will have opportunities to thrive,” the governor said. “My administration also remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote unity, cultural preservation and community development.”

He described community-driven projects as an important complement to government efforts, noting that such initiatives help to strengthen social cohesion and promote sustainable development.

Otti also encouraged the association to expand its membership base by mobilising more indigenes of Isiala Ngwa, saying a broader network would help harness the collective potential of the people.

He further pledged government support toward the successful completion of the Heritage Centre project.

Earlier, the President-General of the Association of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters, Elder Uchendu Ahuruonye, explained that the association was formed by visionary individuals dedicated to promoting unity, cultural values, and socio-economic development in Ngwa land.

He said the planned Heritage Centre would serve as a permanent home for the association and a symbol of the identity and shared aspirations of the people.

Ahuruonye also commended Governor Otti for his leadership, describing his administration’s policies and infrastructure projects as transformative and people-focused.

He said the governor has restored public confidence in governance through his development-driven approach and reforms across key sectors of the state economy.
