Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has formally picked up his membership card of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State.
Obi received the membership card during the flag-off ceremony of the Anambra State ADC registration and mobilisation exercise held on Saturday. The event drew party members, supporters, and political stakeholders from across the state.
His action appears to put to rest earlier speculations about a possible return to the Labour Party, as political realignments gradually begin ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Meanwhile, DAILY POST had earlier reported that the former Anambra State governor declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Obi had stated that he would not be intimidated by the growing number of governors currently under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that Nigeria’s political future should not be determined by intimidation or political dominance.
According to him, several efforts had been made to discourage him from joining the race, but he maintained that he would not be deterred from pursuing his ambition.
His latest move is expected to reshape political conversations in Anambra State and beyond as preparations for the next electoral cycle gather momentum.
