Russian Overnight Strikes on Ukraine Kill Three

Deadly Drone Attacks in the South

In the Odesa region, two people were killed after Russian drones struck industrial, energy and civilian infrastructure, according to regional governor Oleg Kiper. At least three others were reported wounded in the attacks.

Further east in Zaporizhzhia, a drone strike targeting industrial facilities killed a 33-year-old man and injured another, regional chief Ivan Fedorov said. The city — a key industrial hub near the front line — has faced sustained bombardment as Russian forces increase pressure on Ukraine’s southeastern flank.

Kharkiv and Kyiv Targeted

In the northeast, a missile hit the Kholodnogirsky district of Kharkiv, Mayor Igor Terekhov confirmed. Emergency crews were deployed to assess the damage, though no immediate casualty figures were released.

The overnight strikes came a day after a broader wave of Russian missile and drone attacks across the country, including in Kyiv, where one person was killed and more than a dozen others wounded. Sunday’s barrage targeted energy facilities, rail infrastructure and residential areas.

War Nears Four-Year Mark

The renewed attacks underscore the intensifying nature of the conflict as it approaches its fourth year since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

With frontline regions enduring near-daily bombardment and major cities still vulnerable to long-range strikes, the humanitarian toll continues to mount amid limited signs of de-escalation.
