Servicom Hails NYSC Over Improved Orientation Camp Services

The commendation was made at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Second Quarter Networking Meeting for Desk Officers held in Abuja, according to a statement released by the scheme on Tuesday.

Commendation for Service Delivery

Delivering a keynote address, SERVICOM National Coordinator, Nnenna Akajemeli, described the NYSC as “one of the Federal Government agencies demonstrating commendable commitment to quality service delivery and responsiveness to citizens’ needs.”

Akajemeli, who was represented by the Head of Operations, Ngozi Akinbodewa, noted that the improvements recorded in orientation camp operations reflect the scheme’s alignment with service standards expected of public institutions.

The meeting, themed “Leveraging SERVICOM Principles for Effective and Efficient Service Delivery in NYSC,” focused on strengthening the application of SERVICOM principles within the scheme.

NYSC Reaffirms Commitment

In his address, NYSC Director-General, Olakunle Nafiu, reaffirmed the scheme’s resolve to sustain and further improve service delivery in line with SERVICOM standards.

Represented by the Director of Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement, Chinwendu Chukwu, the DG described the workshop as “not merely routine, but a call to action.”

He urged officers to renew their commitment to professionalism, integrity, and strict adherence to SERVICOM principles.

Nafiu also described Desk Officers as “a critical link between the Scheme and the public,” charging them to give their best to ensure optimal service delivery and to continually reassess stakeholder engagement in order to improve public confidence.

Participants at the workshop were drawn from the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, the Federal Capital Territory, and the 36 state secretariats.
