Tinubu made the announcement during an interfaith breaking of fast with Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The President assured members of the Armed Forces that his administration remains committed to improving their welfare and addressing accommodation challenges.
“The interfaith breaking of fast together is a reflection of the diversity of our nation. God has ordained this period to coincide with one another for self-integration and self-actualisation, and the interfaith base is very laudable that we can celebrate breaking bread together,” Tinubu said.
He noted that recent approvals granted to the Nigerian Army were well placed, adding that the Federal Government recognises the sacrifices made by military personnel across the country.
“My duty is to thank all of you on behalf of a grateful nation, knowing fully well that many times you are without your families. Some are facing attacks from banditry and terrorists.
“We will work hard together, whether in the office or in the medical section. You have been working to serve the country and protect our sovereignty.
“This nation will always be grateful to you and your sufferings will not be in vain, I can assure you,” he stated.
Tinubu emphasised that Nigeria’s diversity remains a hallmark of its strength and solidarity, commending the leadership of the Armed Forces for their efforts in safeguarding the country from security threats.
“I’m so grateful to all of you, particularly the leadership of the Armed Forces. You have worked so hard to keep this country from marauders, and I assure you that we will do everything possible collectively to ensure that you have no regrets.
“Your welfare and accommodation will be adequately taken care of,” the President assured.
The salary increment forms part of broader efforts by the Federal Government to boost morale within the military and strengthen national security operations.
