Troops Kill Terrorist Commander, Arrest ‘Drone Supplier’ in Adamawa

The Nigerian Army said a 62-year-old suspect, Dauda Usman Gubula, was arrested at the Madagali motor park. He was described as a terrorist collaborator allegedly responsible for supplying drones used by insurgents against troops.

Security operatives recovered two aerial drones, drone accessories and 20 solar power banks from the suspect.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the media information officer of the Joint Task Force in the North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, said troops also carried out a successful ambush along the Visik river line in Madagali Local Government Area.

During the operation, Abdullahi Mafa, identified as a terrorist commander, was killed. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from him.

The operations form part of ongoing offensives targeting the supply networks of Boko Haram and other insurgent elements in the North-East.

Elsewhere in Sector 2, troops working alongside local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu, Borno State. A suspected terrorist informant attempting to breach defensive positions was neutralised, with additional logistics items recovered.

The military high command commended the troops for their efforts and urged them to maintain operational momentum in the fight to restore security across the region.
