The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka, has criticised former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi over his decision to leave the African Democratic Congress.
In a post shared on X on Sunday, Morka described Obi as a “political rolling stone,” alleging that the former Anambra State governor frequently moves between political parties in pursuit of an easy path to the presidency.
“Peter Obi, a political rolling stone that gathers no moss… roaming again in search of free, uncontested, unchallenged presidential ticket… never willing to remain to build any party,” Morka wrote.
The APC spokesman further accused Obi of seeking political advancement without participating in competitive internal party processes.
“He fantasises to be president on a ticket delivered only on a platter of gold… APGA – PDP – LP – ADC on to NDC,” he added.
Morka concluded his remarks by describing Obi as a “political drifter.”
“Fare thee well, Nigeria’s inconsolable political drifter,” he said.
Obi had earlier announced his resignation from the African Democratic Congress, citing internal crises and what he described as an increasingly toxic political environment.
In a statement released on Sunday, Obi said his decision came after deep reflection and ongoing concerns over internal conflicts, legal disputes, and divisions within the party, which he said had shifted focus away from pressing national issues.
He clarified that his departure was not linked to any personal disagreement with prominent party figures, including former Senate President David Mark and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, both of whom he said he still respects.
The former presidential candidate also maintained that he was not driven by personal ambition for political office, insisting that his priority remains improving the welfare of Nigerians and helping to build a better society.
Despite leaving the ADC, Obi reaffirmed his belief that responsible and compassionate leadership is still possible in Nigeria, declaring that a better nation remains achievable.
