Sporting Lagos technical adviser Jeffery Buter says his team is ready to face Abia Warriors in their next Nigeria Premier Football League fixture at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, on Sunday.

The Lagos-based side will be looking to build on their recent 3-0 victory over Inter Lagos, but Buter said his players have already shifted their attention to the upcoming Matchday 4 encounter.

The coach believes the derby victory can provide momentum for the team as they continue their campaign.

“We have had a week of rest and training, the boys look ready as we have put the success of our last game behind us,” Buter said in a pre-match interview.

“We look forward to Sunday as we have had a good week of preparation.

“The win over Inter Lagos was important as we don’t want to go two games without a win, it will also help us build the momentum ahead of Abia Warriors clash and beyond.”

Buter also called on Sporting Lagos supporters to come out in large numbers for the club’s first home match of the season, saying their presence could provide additional motivation for the players.

“The players enjoy when the fans are at the stadium it’s gives them more confident and extra motivation to get the result for them as well,” he added.

The technical adviser said he was looking forward to seeing a strong turnout as Sporting Lagos return to the NPFL for their home opener.

“It will be nice our first home game back in the NPFL, I’m expecting a packed stadium and hopefully we can give the another good performance on Sunday,” Buter said.
