UCL: ‘They’ll Slaughter Them’ – Christophe Dugarry Predicts Liverpool vs PSG

Former France striker Christophe Dugarry has forecast a one-sided encounter when Paris Saint-Germain face Liverpool in their upcoming UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

Dugarry’s comments come on the back of Liverpool’s disappointing 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-final, a match in which forward Mohamed Salah missed a penalty.

Reacting to Liverpool’s recent form, the 1998 FIFA World Cup winner did not hold back in his assessment, suggesting the English side lack the intensity and quality required to compete at the highest level.

“Have you observed Liverpool’s gameplay? It’s an absolute disaster! They possess nothing at all. While they have technically skilled players and are not uncoordinated, their pace is excruciatingly slow,” Dugarry said.

He went further to praise PSG’s current form, highlighting their intensity, mental strength, and overall rebuild as key factors that set them apart.

“When you witness the intensity PSG is showcasing today, their mental fortitude, and all that they have rebuilt… these two teams are not comparable. It is going to be a complete rout — a genuine slaughter,” he added.

Dugarry also pointed to Liverpool’s heavy defeat against Manchester City as evidence of their vulnerability, especially at a crucial stage of the season where momentum plays a decisive role.

In their previous meeting in the competition, Liverpool were knocked out by PSG in the Round of 16. After securing a 1-0 away win in the first leg, the Reds lost by the same margin at home before eventually falling in a penalty shootout.

With both teams set to clash again, all eyes will be on whether PSG can live up to Dugarry’s bold prediction or if Liverpool can defy expectations and turn the tie around.
